About
keyward is a local encrypted secret broker and stdio MCP server for AI coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor. Agents request API keys by name, prompting a native OS approval dialog before injecting the credentials directly into project configuration files. The AI model and conversation logs never see or store the actual secret values.
From the repository: “Local, encrypted secret broker for AI agents. Claude Code, Cursor, and any MCP tool request an API key by name; you approve in a native OS prompt; only that key is injected into your project — the model never sees the value. Open source, MIT.”
