# WeClone

> Create a digital avatar by fine-tuning LLMs on chat history

WeClone is an end-to-end toolkit for creating a personal AI twin using exported chat logs. It filters sensitive personal information, prepares datasets, fine-tunes LLMs using LoRA, and serves an OpenAI-compatible API. The avatar can be deployed to messaging platforms like Telegram, Discord, and Slack via the provided command-line tool.

## Can I use it?

GNU Affero General Public License 3.0. Network copyleft. Copyleft, and letting people use it over a network can count as sharing.

- Use it at work: Yes. Running it inside your company is fine.
- Run it as an online service: Yes, with conditions. If you change it and let others use it over a network, offer them your version’s source. Unchanged needs nothing extra.
- Sell what you build with it: Yes, with conditions. You may charge, but users get the full source and the same rights.
- Keep your own code private: Yes, with conditions. Only while you don’t share copies and don’t let others use a changed version over a network.
- Put it in a closed-source app: No. If you ship an app that includes it, the whole app must be under the AGPL-3.0. Separate programs next to it are fine.
- Credit the authors: Required. Keep the notices and mark the files you changed.

Good to know:

- It comes with no promise that it works. You use it at your own risk.
- Some authors also sell a license with other terms. Ask them if these rules don’t fit.
- This covers the project’s own code. Its dependencies, and folders like “ee”, may have other licenses.
- The license can change between versions. The one in the version you use is what counts.

_For information only, not legal advice. This is a short summary of the GNU Affero General Public License 3.0. The license text is what counts. [Read the full license](https://spdx.org/licenses/AGPL-3.0.html). For a business decision, ask a lawyer._
